Detailed search facilities allow website visitors to search for specific courses and many other services. The website also includes extensive further information on many aspects of language education. This site is available in 22 languages. School Closures - Cancellations.com is a free, public service site that provides information on school and organization closings and delays across the entire United States. Thousands of schools and organizations are already using the site to provide up-to-date information to everyone in their community on demand. If your school doesn't seem to be listed, let your school know about this resource, and they can register for free to update their information on the site as it becomes available. A Guide to Educational Activities for Families - This is a booklet by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement called Learning Partners: A Guide to Educational Activities for Families. Designed primarily for families with preschool and elementary school-age children, but some of the material is useful for older children. Covers a lot of topics: reading, math, science, geography, history, writing, responsible behavior, and many more. For each topic, there are activities that you can do with your children to reinforce learning. Back To School Guide - Here you will find all the resources you need from homework to school supplies, math help, help for parents, teachers and kids of any age. Even help kids who haven't started school yet to get ready for the big day. College & University Links - Find the right college or university, resources to financial aid such as scholarships, grants and loans. Use calculators to find out how much to save a month for your kids college fund or how to budget and other calculations you might need and much more. This is the ultimate college guide. Even if your kids are young, you might want to take a look at the many calculators that will help you figure out what it will cost you and how to make it a reality. Surfing the Net with Kids - "Surfing the Net with Kids" (from the syndicated newspaper column of the same name) ferrets out the best of the online world for teachers, parents and kids. Online Study Guide for Student Drivers - This is a great resource site for those of you with teens ready to start driving. This is an online study guide for student drivers.You can study the Drivers Manual Handbook supplied by your State, you can take practice tests, use animations for visual aids. Some of the sections included are: Licensing, DMV links, rules of the road, traffic laws, safe driving tips, drivers permit test, samples of quiz questions and more. Internet ABC's - This is a page that will guide you to the many resources on the web that will teach you about the World Wide Web and the Internet. If you are new to the Internet, you might find it useful to visit some of these sites to help you on your way. Homework Resources - Everyone who has children has to deal with homework, reports and projects. Well, here is a page with many different resources for just that purpose. You will find links to sites that are intended to help with homework, some of them even have teachers who will answer your questions. Other resources that we have linked are dictionaries and thesauruses and Encyclopedias. Homeschooling Resources - For those of you who homeschool or have thought of the possibility we have added a page with links to sites on the web that offer you resources about legal issues, current articles, curriculum's, ideas and much more. Helping Your Child Learn Math - This site is by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research and Improvement. Here you will find fun math activities you can do with your children. The activities are for children between 5 and 13. Britannica Internet Guide - This is Encyclopedia Britannica's Internet effort. It is a World Wide Web navigation service that classifies, rates, and reviews more than 65,000 Web sites. Web resources, are described, rated according to consistent standards, and indexed for easier searching. Learn2.com - Quick tutorials on most anything you would need around the house or elsewhere. How to change the oil in your car, how to write a speech, help with computers and consumer electronics etc. Pedagonet - Great resource. It is a service to locate learning resource materials. They also have chat rooms and discussion rooms and a great collection of useful links.
