For the past couple of years I've done all my holiday shopping online. It's
saved me time, money and frustration. How so you say?
Saving Time: Shopping online means that I can sit down at the
computer at 10:30p.m. and be done by 11:30p.m. and that includes buying,
gift wrapping and shipping for EVERYBODY on my list<g>.
Saving Money: I save money by having the gift sent directly to the
recipient, which means I don't have to pay for shipping to my house and then
again by sending it to its final destination. And online deals are often
better than at the stores.
Saved Frustration: The frustration part is easy - no more standing
in lines in crowded malls, no more gridlock traffic, no more dragging cranky
and hot kids around, no more exhaustion, no more carrying big awkward sized
boxes to be mailed etc.
Safety Issues: Some of you might be concerned about the safety of
shopping online. Well, there are a few things to look out for.
First: make sure you are buying from a reputable company such as
Amazon.com, REI, The Sharper Image and so on.
Second: Always check on their return policies, shipping costs etc.
Third: Use a secure server when shopping if you are concerned. A
secure server means that the company is using some kind of encryption to
send the information.
Remember: If someone does charge on your credit card, you are only liable
for the first $50, if you notify the credit card company immediately.
So why don't you make
it easier on yourself this year - shop online. You can cut cost, save time
and side step the usual frustrations by shopping out of the comfort of your
home. You might even find products online that are already sold out in
traditional stores. And this year, you can buy most anything from
Amazon.com, which will save you even more time. And if you decide to shop
online and you use the links on this web site, Parenthub.com gets a small
commission without it costing you anything extra.
