HealthyKids - For those of you familiar with Healthy Kids Magazine - the official consumer publication of the American Academy of Pediatrics, will know what this website is all about - it is the magazines online counterpart - HealthyKids.com. The site launched in February of 1999 and is a health resource for kids up to age 10. The site gets updated daily with new articles. You can choose areas such as nutrition, behavior, development and more. Another nice little feature is their: "Difficult question of the day". Last time I visited the site the question was: Why is the sky blue? And there is a link to a page with the answer. They also provide a form where you can submit your own children's difficult questions to be answered. Babies Online - Have you got a newborn in the family? Then check out this free birth announcement service for new parents. They offer free Web pages announcing births, so that faraway families can share in the bragging. They also feature a monthly contest for baby-related prizes such as blankets, toys, etc. Fathering - We have added a page on Fathering resources in honor of Father's Day. Here you will find links to magazines online, to articles, resources, single-dad, step-dad, divorced-dad resources, links to other interesting sites and much more. Your Pregnancy - A site for pregnant mothers. They feature reference and resource sections, Q&A with their resident experts, email lists, chat, bulleting boards etc. StorkSite - Another pregnancy site with lots of useful information. They feature areas for chat and bulleting boards, their library section features medical information, a glossary of medical terms etc. ParentTime - This site will let you customize your content according to the age of your child (even your unborn child). Sounds good, though it takes a long time to go from page to page within the site (and I have a fast connection). The site is owned by Time Warner and Procter& Gamble. ParentSoup - A lot of good content here, but ends up being overkill, too much to chose from on each page. The site is not very well organized, it's easy to get lost. The site is owned by iVillage. ParentsPlace - Another big parenting site on the Web. Seems to be owned by iVillage as well, but was originally created by a husband and wife team who wanted to stay home after their son was born. (Much like me). Parenthoodweb - They have a "ask the Pros" section, where they let you email your questions to get them answered by professionals according to their expertise. Compiled links to articles related to parenting. Parentsroom - This site started out as a place for parents to chat, but is now filled with many interesting and useful resources for parents/families.
