Report Unsafe Products - Now it is even easier than before to report a product that is unsafe, just do it online at the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Recalls - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is a great resource for recall information. On this page you can find recalls by product, recalls by company, general recall categories, you can sign up for their email and get links to agencies that deal with products they do not have jurisdiction over such as car seats, cars, food, cosmetics and more. Baby Safety Checklist - This is a page on the Consumer Information Center's web site, where you can review some baby safety tips. Childproofing Your Home - About 2-1/2 million children are injured or killed by hazards in the home each year - this page from the Consumer Information Center tells you of 12 easy safety devices to help protect your children. Grandchild Safety Checklist - A checklist for grandparents to prepare their homes for visits from little ones. This page also has some great information on how you can create a bond and nurture your grandchild. Preventing Childhood Poisoning - Find out how to childproof your home from iron poisoning, lead poisoning, keeping medicine out of reach, signs of poisoning and how to protect yourself against tampering etc. Protecting Your Child - The FBI estimates that as many as 2,300 children are reported missing to the police each day. This page helps you figure out how to teach your children about safety, potentially unsafe situations and gives safety rules for children and parents. Tells you about precautionary measures, what to do if you cannot find your child and gives you further resources on the topic. How to Give Medicine to Children - Talks about dosages, reading the labels correctly, watching for side effects, giving medicine to younger children and more. Is Your Home a Healthy Home for Children? - This page tells you about specific dangers in the bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms and other living areas. Evenflo Infant Car Seat Recall - This is the press release page for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, announcing that The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of about 800,000 Evenflo On My Way infant car seats/carriers because of a defect that can cause serious injuries to children while the seats are being used as infant carriers. Follow the link above for more details. Children's Furniture Safety
Information - This is the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission page on children's
furniture safety. Here you will find links to articles on safety information, tips and
warnings covering baby items, bunk beds, Tips for Your Baby's Safety - This page is also listed in the above document but I felt it was important enough to draw attention to it by listing it separately here. This is a nursery equipment safety check list. This checklist is a safety guide to help you when buying new or secondhand nursery equipment. It also can be used when checking over nursery equipment now in use in your home or in other facilities that care for infants and young children. U.S. Consumer Gateway - Children - The U.S. Consumer Gateway is a "one-stop" link to a broad range of federal information resources available online and the above link is their children's page. Too many links and resources here to cover them all, but they have a section of kids sites for kids to visit, they have a health and immunization section, a nutrition section, a safety and accidents prevention section and a product recalls section. This is worth a visit. Free Retrofit Kits for Window
Blinds - Nearly 200 children were accidentally strangled by the pull cords on window
blinds between 1981 and 1995, according to the Journal of the American Medical

pull cords on their existing vertical or horizontal blinds (whether or not the blinds were
